Usually not, but I do not see a problem with it. The alternate event can be recommended by the doctor but the commander makes the determination. For example let’s say the doctor say you can swim and your commander informs the medical authority that swimming is not an option because a pool is not available or it is not convenient for the command. The doctor will then list the bike or walk.
